Award Rules & Conditions
General rules
  1. Award ticket and award upgrade is required to book in designated class; award seat availability is subject to flight control.
  2. Redemption mileages required for the baby and child are the same as the adult. Unaccompanied Children Service is not available to Award ticket.
  3. There are two types of award ticket redeposit as voluntary and involuntary. Except the involuntary reason defined in ( General Condition on Domestic Passenger, Luggage Transportation of China Southern Airlines Company Ltd ), others are all voluntary redeposit.
  4. To ensure the safety of your mileage account, please provide the following certificates upon award ticketing or award upgrade:
    1. For Sky Pearl Club cardholder to use the award, please provide original Sky Pearl Club card, ID card and its copy with Sky Pearl cardholder's signature.
    2. For others to use the award:please provide the copies of Sky Pearl Club membership card and cardholder's ID or passport with Sky Pearl cardholder's signature, ID card or passport of passengers and its copy.
    3. If you entrust someone else to get the award, please provide his ID or passport and its copy as well.
China Southern Award ticket
  1. China Southern Award Tickets or Award Upgrades are only redeemable on the flights coded and operated by China Southern (excluding any CZ code-share flights) or designated flights on non-SkyTeam partner airlines.
  2. Route, flight date and flight number must be decided upon booking China Southern Award Ticket. Flights beyond three months from the date of your flight are not allowed to book in advance.
  3. China Southern Award Ticket is used for one way, round-way and open jaw.
  4. Stopover is not allowed for China Southern Award Ticket.
  5. China Southern Award tickets are valid for one year from the date of travel; totally unused award ticket is valid for one year from the date of issue.
  6. Before ticketing, the mileage-deducted award ticket could not be changed. Once ticket is issued, the flight or date could be changed once within ticket's validity (expect the involuntary change).
  7. Lost award tickets will not be replace and refund.
  8. Provide an unused ticket¡¯s flight coupon and passenger coupon while applying for redeposit of award ticket. Your membership card (number) and ID card are required. (If the award is used by others, the transferee¡¯s ID card is also required.)
  9. Request for Award ticket refund must be made prior to departure and if permitted should go to the designated China Southern Ticketing Office for refund within 3 days. Failure to apply for refund within the time limit will result in refusal of redeposit by China Southern Airlines.
  10. Award ticket out of its validity fails to apply and make the ticket refund.
  11. Involuntary Refund: to refund the mileages of the unused section; Voluntary Refund: to deduct 50% mileage of the used section for change.
China Southern Award Upgrade
  1. Award upgrade is only redeemable on the flights marketed and operated by China Southern.
  2. Award upgrade is good for one-way journey only.
  3. Award upgrade is allowed once on the same flight. For example, if you upgrade from Economy to Business used the mileage, then you are not allowed to use the mileage for the upgrade from Business to First again.
  4. For domestic flights, only classes (C/D/W/Y) are eligible for award upgrade. For International flights, only classes (C/D/W/Y/T/K/H) are eligible for award upgrade.
  5. Award upgrades is handled by China Southern Ticketing Office or check-in counters within 72 hours before flight departure. The upgrade for return flight should be handled at local China Southern Ticketing Office. Cities without China Southern Ticketing Office donot provide award upgrade service.
  6. The voluntary endorsement is based on the original class of service.
  7. After award upgrade tickets are issued, any voluntary change of the date of the flight will result in forfeiture of said flight upgrade.
  8. Refund for award upgrade only happens in involuntary case; not for voluntary.
  9. For the request of downgrade, the passenger coupon with the stamp of "INVOLUNTARY DOWNGRADE" (stamped at the check-in counter.) is required to present. The refund is handled by the authorized booking offices, not at check-in counter.
  10. Involuntary downgrade is allowed to make refund. The redeposit mileages will reflect in the column of "other mileages".
SkyTeam award ticket
  1. China Southern Customer Service Call Center at 020-95539(domestic) and (8620)8668 2000(international) is the contact for the SkyTeam Award ticket application.
  2. SkyTeam Award Ticket rules and regulations are applicable to award ticket redemption on one or more SkyTeam partner airlines' flight.
  3. SkyTeam award ticket is only eligible on the flights marketed and operated by SkyTeam partner airlines. Co-share flights between SkyTeam members and non-SkyTeam air partners are not eligible.
  4. Sky Pearl Club mileage could be used for a SkyTeam award ticket operated by one SkyTeam member. For the purpose of flight connecting, you can redeem SkyTeam Award Ticket on one or more SkyTeam member airlines. If your travel plans include China Southern flights, they should be international flights (including Hong Kong and Macau).
  5. China Southern domestic flight involved in the routes should follow China Southern Award ticket Chart.
  6. SkyTeam award ticket rules are only applicable to award tickets (not to award upgrade).
  7. SkyTeam Award Ticket Chart is applicable for round-trip, both one-way and round-trip tickets share the same standard.
  8. SkyTeam award ticket is not allowed to a round-the-world ticket (transpacific and transatlantic at the same time).
  9. Route, flight date and flight number must be decided upon booking SkyTeam Award Ticket. Open Jaw is not allowed to SkyTeam Award Ticket and blackout date is applicable on some partners' flight.
  10. Classes in different levels of service could mix book in the route, but mileage will be deducted by the standard of the highest class of service
  11. For flight connecting purpose, stopover (except the destination/returning point) is allowed once for SkyTeam award tickets.
  12. Before ticketing, the mileage-deducted SkyTeam Award ticket could not do any change. SkyTeam award tickets already issued cannot change routes and the name of passenger. Flight number and date can be changed within the ticket validity and 200RMB or equal value in local currency is charged per change.
  13. SkyTeam Award tickets are valid for one year from the date of travel; totally unused award ticket is valid for one year from the date of issue.
  14. Mileage refund should be made in ticket's validity.
  15. Mileage refunds should be handled at any designated China Southern Ticketing Office.
  16. Mileage refunds are categorized as voluntary and involuntary. It may cost time for China Southern to contact partner airlines and confirm the nature of the refund -voluntary or involuntary.
  17. Mileage refund regulations:
    1. Totally unused Award ticket¡ªVoluntary: to refund 50% mileage; Involuntary: to refund 100% mileage. (All tax paid refund)
    2. Partially used Award ticket¡ªVoluntary: no refund; Involuntary: to refund 50£¥ mileage. (Tax for unused section refund)
